Student A had always felt "different" which did not bode well for inclusion, in fact the difference that student felt meant that each day they strove for exclusion having been told by many agencies that there "was no help" Student A wanted and more importantly wished to be heard and that is exactly what we provided via talking therapy and a variety of interventions to assist that student to see things differently and to accept thier difference as a gift rather than a curse.
Case Study B came to us because of a complicated history within the family. B was another who was informed there "was nothing that could be done" because the issues surrounding this person needed a longer term therapy, which statutory agencies did not provide. We introduced coping strategies to deal with the fractious relationships within the family, we worked through the fact that everything happening was not solely thier fault and an offer of therapy to another member of the family meant there was a far better understanding of how this was affecting B.
Case Study C had been led to believe they had a "relationship" with someone the same age on social media. This person was persuaded to help this person by accepting and forwarding parcels in return for gifts and declarations of love. As is often the case the "relationship" was fake and was in fact a front for moving illegal goods. Thankfully this person was not in trouble having been groomed, however this did not stop them feeling worthless and they and us worked hard to rebuild self-esteem and to educate them in how to spot the signs of something being not quite what it seems.
